Welcome to Naismith Bowls
Who we are
We are a community bowls club located in Tangier Road Portsmouth.
We are affiliated with "Portsmouth and district Bowls association"
We compete in 4 Midweek leagues in Portsmouth
We welcome experienced and new bowlers to compete with us - Or take part in internal informal bowls sessions.
Currently we only run Men's teams as we don't have sufficient Ladies to create a team - However the Club is keen to attract Ladies who wish to play and would be happy to support a Ladies team and Support them into the leagues.
Our History
Copnor Bowls Club was originally located at the Copnor Bridge end of Tangier Road (See image ) this club was established in 1914 and celebrated its centenary on 12th June 2014. It was moved in 2007 to its current site to make way for the bridge improvements and was initially "Swordsands Bowling Association" and incorporated Copnor Ladies and Mens teams Naismith and Moneyfields.

During the Green Bowls Season (April to September) we hold weekly "Roll up" sessions on Sundays between 10am and 1pm .
We are open to the public and would welcome new and experienced bowlers to come and meet the members and try bowls. No equipment or experience required other than flat trainer type footwear.
